Totara Cabin

Totara Cabin has a charming, rustic simplicity and intimate atmosphere. The combination of the pot-bellied stove, the long drop toilet and the outdoor shower gives one the feeling of staying in a pioneer cabin but with all the comforts modernity has to offer. It's a place to let your imagination take over and to re-live the joys of childhood.

Rangimarie Bush Retreat features:

• Lucious Bush

  35 acres of bush clad hill.

• River running through the property

  A stony bottom river runs through the property that many a good-sized brown trout has been caught in. Trout fishing is available to those with a licence and equipment.

• Tramping Tracks

  Walking tracks through the bush (a certain amount of fitness is required to navigate the steeper parts).

• Bush Baths

  large bush bath enclosed on three sides, overlooking the river and set amongst the bush. A magical experience!

• Native Wild Animals

  Two pet eels come once a day to the edge of a pool to be fed. The bush is alive with bird life especially the Kereru, native wood pigeon. Many Tuis and fantails can also be seen flitting through the trees.

• Farm Animals

  Domestic animals grazing the lush green paddocks, produce milk, eggs and meat for the household. A large veggie garden by the river supplies most of the needs also.

• BBQ and Pizza Oven by the River

  A B.B.Q. area by the river and a pizza oven are at the guests disposal if they so wish. Food will be provided or you can bring your own. Campfires also provide a lovely way to end the day.

• Picnic lunches

  Picnic lunches can be provided by arrangement.
