The black sands of the west coast are unique and at low tide a spade is all that is required to reveal the hotwater in the sand. Relaxing in one's own pool is an experience many of the visitors to Rangimarie have really enjoyed.
This mountain has been pest proofed to protect the native flora and wildlife. It is extensively tracked for the public to enjoy the bush as it was in pre-European times.
